Parking address: A417, Upton, Didcot, Oxfordshire OX11 9HX (the parking will be clearly signposted and manned from 8:00am)
Camping and venue address: Station Road, Upton, Didcot, Oxfordshire OX11 9HX
Upton lies below the Ridgeway on the A417, south of Didcot and is easily accessible from the A34 via the Chilton Junction (northbound) or Milton Junction (southbound). We are also blessed with being on the National Cycle Network, with Route 44 passing through the village. This can be used if travelling from Didcot or if arriving by train to Didcot Parkway train station.

Parking will be available free of charge at a number of locations close to Upton Village Hall. Parking is at the owner’s risk and the organisers or their officials take no responsibility for any theft or damage caused. Parking on the recreation ground itself will be limited to campers and suppliers this year, as we can no longer allow vehicles to leave during the period that cyclists are finishing their ride.
Breakfast baps will be served from 8:00am onwards. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be available throughout the day – these were incredibly popular last year.
A BBQ will be available from mid-day onward using only quality meat from Q Gardens. Veggie burgers will also be available.
Later in the day (16:45 ish to 21:00 ish) there will also be wood-fired Pizza on offer for campers and those just a bit peckish, but not fancying another burger or sausage!
Having drunk the bar dry again last year the licensed bar will be back with more real ales from Ridgeway and Loose Cannon Breweries, two of the area’s micro-breweries. There will also be Upton’s very own prize winning Organic Cider, not to mention the Benson beauty that is Red Dog Cider.
We’re also upping our wine game this year, with more choice of quality wines, served to you by the wine boffins at Strictly Wine.
We have a fabulous line up for you this year. Click on the band image before for a preview.
The event is aimed at being really family friendly. In addition to the 5 and 12 mile family rides there will be the following facilities available at the recreation ground in Upton:
- Juice bars en-route on all rides
- Cold drinks, cakes and ice creams
- Kids’ Adventure Play area
- Bike pump track
- Lots of Music!
Support for the riders
There will be regular way markers on the routes and marshals at certain points, including all road crossings. An emergency number will be issued on the day should you need to summon help. St John Ambulance will be present on the day, with a base at Upton Village Hall and two cycle mounted medics out on the course. In addition we’ve added a 4×4 ambulance to the cover to ensure we can best cope with any unfortunate accidents. Mountain Mania will have a mobile unit for field repairs/bike recovery and the police will be present for advice on bike safety/security.
Event photographers www.rightplacerighttime.co.uk will be doing their best to capture images of every rider on the day that will be available to buy online shortly after the event.
After the ride why not relax with a massage? Rosalia Barresi will be on hand to soothe your tender spots!
Bike – Check, Beer – Check, Music – Check. Did we forget something……..
